Understanding What’s Happening in Your Body

Lactation is a hormonally driven process where milk is produced by the glands and moves through the ducts toward the nipple. Clogged ducts occur when there is inflammation in the surrounding breast tissue that compresses a milk duct, leading to slowed or blocked flow. Without resolution, this can lead to mastitis, painful inflammation, or infection of the breast tissue.

Physical therapy can help reduce that inflammation, restore gentle movement in the area, and promote better drainage, without aggressive or painful techniques.
